Do you have family members whose views differ sharply from your own? These kind of disagreements can put a strain on family bonds and make holidays more stressful and less fun. Learn how to manage conflicting political views within families and between friends by attending The Braver Angels Alliance of Washtenaw County Family and Politics Workshop. This event will take place in person at Sharon Township Hall, located at 18010 W Pleasant Lake Rd, on October 12, 2025, from 1 to 4pm.

Braver Angels is the largest grassroots, cross-partisan organization in the country working to decrease fear and hate between ordinary people with differing political opinions. The goal is to disagree strongly while listening to other viewpoints with respect and curiosity, not to change anyone’s mind. We are trying to understand the experiences, information sources, and values that underlie the other person’s position. Braver Angels believes that disagreement is essential in a democracy and that demeaning and demonizing those who vote differently from us undermines civic life and leads to worse outcomes for society.

Sign up for this event on https://www.eventbrite.com (search “Family and Politics Workshop”). This is a free event; if reserving a spot shows a charge, enter “BRAVER” as a promo code.
