Do you have extra scrap metal hanging around your barn, garage, or basement? A good way to rid yourself of these unwanted items would be to bring it out to Sharon Church on one of the next two Saturdays!

Sharon Church is excited to announce the return of its annual Scrap Metal Drive, taking place on Saturday, September 6, and Saturday, September 13, from 9am to 3pm. This yearly tradition has become a meaningful way for the community to come together and support meaningful mission and outreach work at the same time.

Community members are invited to drop off unwanted scrap metal of all kinds—everything from old appliances and lawn equipment to spare pipes, wire, and miscellaneous metal items. Collection will take place behind the Fellowship Hall, with easy access from the Pleasant Lake Road entrance. Volunteers will be on hand to assist with unloading.

All proceeds from the Scrap Metal Drive directly support Sharon Church’s mission initiatives. These funds help sustain outreach programs, provide resources for families in need, and strengthen the church’s ability to serve both the local community and projects beyond Manchester.

“Every piece of metal collected is more than just recycling—it’s a contribution toward meaningful work that impacts lives,” said a Sharon Church spokesperson. “The generosity of this community allows us to continue sharing compassion, hope, and practical support.”

Sharon Church is deeply grateful for the ongoing participation of neighbors and friends who make this drive successful each year. With continued support, the 2025 Scrap Metal Drive is set to be one of the strongest yet.

Join the crowd at Sharon Church on September 6 and 13 to clear out unused items, recycle responsibly, and partner with the church in mission work that makes a difference. Do something good for humanity—and your wife will probably be happy, too!
