The employees of Amcor in Manchester recently demonstrated the true spirit of community giving through an impressive food drive that collected essential items for local families in need. The company-wide effort resulted in 180 pounds of donations to support the Manchester Community Resource Center’s food pantry and Weekend Kids Meal program.

The generous contribution included 66 pounds of food items and 114 pounds of non-food essentials such as laundry soap, dish soap, and cleaning products. The Amcor Events & Engagement team coordinated the food drive and Amcor employees Tamara Meyer and Sue Keezer personally delivered the donated items to CRC on September 2, just in time for the start of the school year. The excellent variety of kid-friendly foods donated will be used in meal kits to ensure that Manchester students have food when not in school. The Weekend Kids Meal program provides crucial nutritional support to students who might otherwise go hungry during weekends and school breaks.

Beyond the food donations, the essential cleaning supplies address another critical need within the community. These supplies are always needed and much appreciated by neighbors who use the food pantry. These items help families maintain healthy, dignified living conditions.

This generous donation demonstrates the positive impact that local businesses can have when they support their communities. This employee-driven initiative provided immediate support to Manchester Area families.

The CRC extends heartfelt gratitude to all Amcor employees who participated in this meaningful food drive, making a tangible difference in the lives of Manchester families.
