The Manchester Senior Citizens Council (MSCC) is so excited to announce that we have received the first base payment of $200,000 from the Washtenaw County Senior Millage funds. One of the many services we are now able to provide to our seniors is funding minor home repairs. Recipients must be over 60 years of age and live in Washtenaw County to be eligible for services funded with Senior Millage dollars.

The MSCC Policy allows applicants to apply every 6 months for funding up to $1,000 based on eligibility. Requests for funding exceeding $1,000 will require a variance approval vote from MSCC. Upon submission of an application and quote from a licensed contractor (preferably local) requests will be reviewed by the Manchester Senior Citizens Council and approved or denied with cause.

The MSCC Policy and Minor Home Repair Applications are available at the Tuesday/Thursday lunches (currently held at Manchester United Methodist Church) and at the Manchester Senior Center, 912 City Rd. Expanded social activities, meals, healthy life services, exercise activities, and technological assistance will soon be available at the Manchester Senior Center.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
