Eleanor June “Peggy” Schmidt (May 17, 1941 – September 30, 2025)

Eleanor June “Peggy” Schmidt (McKeever), of Manchester, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born on May 17, 1941, in Summerfield Township, Michigan, Peggy was a lifelong Michigander.

Peggy shared 61 years of marriage with her husband, Gerald Schmidt.  She will be remembered by her son Ray Schmidt and his wife Kathy, as well as her grandsons Jacob Schmidt and Nickalis Schmidt. Her son-in-law Jerry Mauzy also remains among those who mourn her passing.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Rhonda Mauzy, as well as her brother Ron McKeever.

A woman of many interests, Peggy found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting—crafting pieces that brought comfort to others. She had a passion for hunting and spent many seasons immersed in the outdoors. A loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers, she rarely missed a game, cheering on her team with enduring enthusiasm.

No funeral services are planned.
