The weather was perfect last Friday, September 26, when Riverside and Luther C. Klager students participated in the annual Fun Run. Fun Run is a fundraiser sponsored by the PTO that supports both buildings in the school district.

The Fun Run started with a chance for the younger students to run through the giant Manchester “M.” Then the students ran to their starting lines to warm up under the guidance of high school students. Once group stretching was completed, the students were directed by Superintendent Steve Head to take their places at the starting line and begin their run. Children had the option to run or walk and enjoy time with their friends and teachers while families cheered them on from the bleachers. The event ended with popsicles, to the delight of all the children.

The Fun Run is the primary fundraiser sponsored by PTO. The money raised during the Fun Run helps to sponsor a wide variety of causes for both buildings, including funding grade-level field trips, schoolwide assemblies, teacher wish list money, Senior Luncheon, and more! This year, the PTO’s goal was to raise $17,500. Donations closed at the end of the day on Friday, October 3. The final total raised was an incredible $18,133.

The PTO wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to the children, families, and community members who worked so hard to fundraise and lend helping hands to make this event an incredible success this year.
