Last week, Patricia Vailliencourt, on behalf of the Manchester Senior Citizens Council, was excited to announce that the Manchester Senior Center is now open Monday, 9am to 9pm, and Tuesday through Thursday, 9am to 4pm. They are closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Vailliencourt stated, “We love to have drop-ins just to hang out. They may find games being played, there is always a puzzle to work on, or can just sit in our relaxing corner and read.” In addition, they are filling up their calendar with fun, healthy activities:
Monday, 10:30am to 11:15am: Movement for Joy (formerly Movin’ & Groovin’) — Free to Seniors 60+, this joyful practice is accessible to all, regardless of mobility levels. Classes are led by viewing a YouTube video except on the third Monday of the month, when the instructor is present in person. Come with comfortable clothes and shoes.
Mondays, 2:30pm to 3:30pm: Cardio Drumming — (begins November 3, 2025) Taught by Sally, an instructor at Grass Lake and Chelsea senior centers. Everyone is invited to participate. $3 donation per class. They have a limited supply of drumming equipment available so if you have your own, bring it. Wear comfortable clothing.
Mondays, 6pm: Euchre —$2 per person (additional donations for the senior programs are greatly appreciated). Everyone is welcome.

Vailliencourt explained that currently the senior center is not reservable for private events. When it becomes available for non-senior programing, reservations will be handled by City staff. For now, usage by seniors is being scheduled by the Manchester Senior Council. She added that the Senior Council plans to start scheduling intergenerational events soon.
The Manchester Senior Center is located at 912 City Rd, off of the lower parking lot.
