Please join us for this Alliance event on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 1pm to 4pm, at Sharon Township Hall, 18010 Pleasant Lake Rd. The cost is $0 if you enter “BRAVER” for the promo code when you register (but donations are always welcome!).

So many of us have lost or avoid friends, relatives, and other loved ones due to political differences. The Family and Politics Workshop teaches participants how to preserve family and friendship bonds while staying true to your values and political beliefs. Although the focus is on family relationships, you can use these strategies with any loved one. You’ll have some fun in this workshop—it won’t be all serious. After all, we all know quirky people!

Workshop goals include: gaining insight into why family differences over politics are uniquely challenging; recognizing common roles that family members play in political conversations; and developing strategies and skills to handle family and personal political differences in a constructive way. The Family and Politics Workshop is open to everyone who struggles over political differences with a loved one.

What to expect: You will learn about the family and interpersonal dynamics of political differences, apply them to your family and loved ones, and learn and practice effective communication skills with difficult family members and friends. Register on Eventbrite. Direct questions and comments to washtenaw-county-mi@braverangels.org

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
