NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – ZONING MAP AMENDMENTS

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in the Freedom Township Hall (11508 Pleasant Lake Road) to invite public comment on an application from Bruce Greene to amend the Official Zoning Map, under authority of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act (Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, being MCL 125.3101 et seq.), to rezone the following tract of land from A-R (Agricultural-Resource) to the I-1 (Industrial-Research) zoning district:

Approximately 19.20-acres of land located to the north side of Ellsworth Road and east side of S. Fletcher Road east of 12430 Ellsworth Road and north of the Marathon Pipe Line Freedom Station site in the southwest 1/4 of Section 9 that is part of a larger 49.86-acre parcel #N-14-09-300-011 and is further described as follows:

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Commencing at the South ¼ corner of Section 9, T3S, R4E, Freedom Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan; thence N89°37’10”W 1345.20 feet along the South line of said Section 9 and the centerline of Ellsworth Road to the POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing N89°37‘10”W 685.19 feet along the South line and said centerline; thence N00°15’03”E 780.00 feet; thence N89°37’10”W 660.00 feet; thence N00°15’03”E 221.57 feet along the West line of said Section 9 and the centerline of Fletcher Road; thence S89°30’03”E 1356.53 feet along the North line of the South ¾ of the South ½ of the Southwest ¼ of said Section 9; thence S00°54’03”W 998.80 feet to the Point of Beginning. Being part of the South ¾ of the South ½ of the Southwest ¼ of Section 9, T3S, R4E, Freedom Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan and containing 19.20 acres of land more or less. Being subject to the rights of the public over the Easterly 33 feet of Fletcher Road and the Northerly 33 feet of Ellsworth Road. Also being subject to easements and restrictions of record, if any.
