Luther C. Klager completes Annual Cereal Drive

For two weeks the families and children at Luther C. Klager Elementary School participated in their annual Cereal Drive for the Manchester Community Resource Center.  This year’s cereal drive was sponsored by Mr. Peterson and Mrs. Villarreal’s second grade classes.  The children made flyers and commercial videos to encourage their peers to participate.  They also monitored the expiration dates on the boxes and counted them.  On Friday, December 12, the children celebrated the conclusion of the cereal drive with a Cereal Domino Run.  After their monthly assembly, the Klager students lined up in the hallway where the second-grade students had lined up the cereal boxes.  Then after a group countdown, the children delighted and cheered as the cereal boxes fell like dominos down the hallway.  In total, 81 boxes of cereal were donated to the Manchester CRC.
