Manchester District Library announces 2026 recurring events calendar

Happy New Year from the staff at the Manchester District Library (MDL)!

Family Story Time will continue in its regular weekly time slot — Tuesdays at 11am. Miss Abby and special guest readers will offer a variety of stories, music, and hands-on activities. Recommended for preschool ages with an adult.

Wario Wednesday moves to a new time on January 7. Now starting at 3:30pm, go head-to-head against other racers in Mario Kart, face off against gaming legends in Super Smash Bros, or just come for the snacks. All ages welcome.

Cartooning 101 will still meet weekly on Thursdays at 3:30pm. Bring your drawings to life! Learn how to make your doodles come alive in our introductory cartooning class! We’ll teach you how comics work as well as some tricks you can use to make your characters look like they’re moving. Recommended for ages 9+.

There’s no Bingo! this month, as the first Thursday fell on a holiday, but this popular event returns to the regular monthly schedule beginning February 5. Join us on the first Thursday of each month for a rousing round of bingo with snacks and prizes. All ages welcome.

Young Preschoolers Story Time is back on the second Monday of every month starting on January 12. Young homeschoolers and their caregivers can join Miss Abby for stories, songs, and crafts while getting to know fellow homeschoolers in the community. More than just a story hour, this homeschooling group can mature together and grow into other activities. Recommended for ages up to 6.

Finally, the monthly MDL Board of Trustees meeting will move to the fourth Thursday of each month in the new year. The first meeting of 2026 will be held on January 22. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Visit manchesterlibrary.info/board-of-trustees.html for details and updates.

MDL regular hours are Monday-Thursday 10am-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-2pm. The most up-to-date hours and the latest news are always available on the MDL website.
