SYNOPSIS OF MEETING MINUTES

December 9, 2025, Regular Board Meeting

Held in person at the Freedom Town Hall 

Meeting called to order at 8:00pm 

Members present: Lindemann, Bristle, Layher, Huehl, Schaible absent-none   7 public in attendance.

The board heard public comments, communications received, and treasurer, clerk, planning commission, ordinance enforcement officer and zoning administrator’s reports. 

Items approved:

  1. Minutes for November 11, 2025
  2. November Treasurer’s report
  3. To send the draft blight ordinance to the attorney for review. 
  4. To adopt resolution (as amended) asking that the Wash. Co. Material Management Planning Committee and Wash. Co. Board of Commissioners permanently exclude from the County’s MMP, the siting of an anerobic bio-digestor in Freedom Township due to existing policies and conditions that have created substantial threats to township residents’ health, safety, and well-being. 
  5. To appoint Brent Leverett, Frank Lobbestael, Jeff Weidmayer to Zoning Board of appeals for 3 yr. term and Scott Guenther as the alternate.
  6. To appoint the Planning Commission Chair and Township Supervisor to Board of Review for 1 yr. terms.  
  7. To appoint Karen Flahie and Kyle Toteff for a 3 yr. term to the planning commission. 
  8. To appoint Dan Schaible for a 1 yr. term and Carol Huehl for a 1 yr. term (recording secretary) to the planning commission.
  9. To set the Freedom Twp. board meetings for the second Tuesday of the month at 8:00 p.m. at the Freedom Township Hall.
  10. Warrants
