Discover the outdoor world at the Eddy Discovery Center in the Waterloo Recreation Area! The Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center is located at 17030 Bush Rd, Chelsea, Mich., just 10 minutes north of Sharon Township, in the Waterloo Recreation Area. The Waterloo Natural History Association Program has one program in January: Michigan’s Imperiled Species in Winter, from 2pm to 3:30pm, on January 18.

Even in winter, the Fish & Wildlife Service is prioritizing the conservation of listed species right in our backyard. Join Autumn Dunivant and colleagues on a guided winter hike to learn about the eastern Massasauga rattlesnake, northern long-eared bat, and native pollinators. You will learn about life history, habitat, and what landscape changes are contributing to their status. Imperiled species are important all year round, so dress for the weather and hike with the people who protect them! The Eddy Discovery Center building is closed so the program will be entirely outdoors.

The program costs $2/person or $5/family. Please register for this program by emailing waterloonha@gmail.com with your name, phone number and number of people attending.,

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
