Manchester’s most accomplished scouts invited to apply for VFW’s Scout of the Year

submitted by Dann Todd, Grass Lake Post 10194 Veterans of Foreign Wars
The Veterans of Foreign Wars invites all high-achieving scouts to apply for the VFW’s Scout of the Year program. This program was developed to recognize the accomplishments of scouts who have achieved one of the four following awards: Scouting Eagle Scout, Girl Scouts Gold Award, Venture Scouts Summit Award, or Sea Scouts Quartermaster Award. The maximum age to receive the VFW Scout of the Year Award is 18. Scouts who have earned one of the qualifying awards and are still in high school are eligible to apply at 18 years of age. There is no minimum age requirement.
Scouts interested in applying should visit the VFW website for complete rules and an application form: https://vfw.org/community/youth-and-education/scout-of-the-year. Completed packages should be submitted to a local VFW Post no later than March 1, 2026. Scouts may only apply to one VFW Post — submissions to multiple posts is not allowed.
Note: Manchester’s local VFW post is Grass Lake VFW Post 10194.
