BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, WASHTENAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN
NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS

During a regular meeting on January 8, 2026, the Bridgewater Township Board of Trustees adopted Ordinance No. 67-12, which amends Article 11.0 (Special Development Procedures) and Article 19.0 (Definitions) of the Bridgewater Township Zoning Ordinance No. 67, by authority of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act (Public Act 110 of 2006, MCL 125.3101 et. seq., as amended), to insert a new Section 11.39 (Solar Energy Facilities and Devices) and to add new solar energy-related definitions for the purpose of establishing a “workable ordinance” as described in the Michigan Public Service Commission’s adopted rules for implementation of Michigan Public Act 233 of 2023 (MCL460.1221- 1232) for local regulation of new solar energy facilities and devices in the Township.

The Zoning Ordinance, Official Zoning Map, and amendatory ordinance may be viewed at the Township Hall by appointment through the Township Clerk’s office; please call (517) 513-9525 or email bridgewatertwpclerk@yahoo.com. The adopted amendments shall become effective on the eighth day following publication of this notice of adoption unless referendum procedures are initiated under MCL 125.3402. If referendum procedures are initiated under MCL 125.3402, the ordinance shall take effect in accordance with MCL 125.3402.
