The Manchester Community Resource Center (CRC) is once again offering free tax preparation help starting February 16 through the VITA program.

If your household earned less than $69,000 in 2025, you may qualify for this free service. When you call to make your appointment, CRC staff will go over a few other details to make sure this program is right for you.

Here’s how it works: You bring your tax documents, social security card, and ID to CRC. Staff will help you fill out an intake form and upload everything to Accounting Aid Society. Their IRS-trained volunteers will prepare both your federal and state tax returns for free.

When your return is ready, usually in a few days, CRC will call you to come back and sign it. Then the return will be filed electronically with the IRS.

The best part? Manchester area residents never have to leave town to get their taxes done professionally — for free!

To schedule your appointment, call CRC at 734-428-7722. Appointments are available from February 16 through April 2. Spots fill up quickly, so don’t wait to call.

The Manchester Community Resource Center is located within the Riverside Intermediate School at 710 E Main St and serves residents of Manchester and the four surrounding townships.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
