The Manchester Senior Center has just hired their first-ever executive director, Holly McDermott. McDermott states, “I am honored to serve as the new executive director of the Manchester Senior Center. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the City of Manchester and to work alongside a community that values connection, service, and quality of life for older adults.”
McDermott brings more than two decades of experience in customer service, event coordination, and administrative support with her to her new position. She states that most recently she worked with Dexter Community Schools, “supporting daily operations while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.” Prior to that, she spent many years at Schoolcraft College as a banquet and catering supervisor and event services coordinator, where she led teams and coordinated large-scale events with a stated goal of delivering exceptional service.
She states, “Throughout my career, I have valued collaboration, organization, and building strong relationships—qualities I am excited to bring to the Senior Center. I believe the center plays an essential role in promoting wellness, social engagement, and lifelong learning, and I look forward to building upon the strong foundation already in place. I am eager to meet our members, volunteers, and community partners, and I welcome your ideas and feedback.”
Please stop by the senior center located on the lower level of 912 City Rd, introduce yourself to Holly, and help welcome her to Manchester!
