Building off of the success of the free Valentine’s lunch, the Manchester Senior Center is planning another special holiday meal, but this time they are bringing in an executive chef! In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, the Senior Center, located at 912 City Rd (entrance off of rear parking lot), is holding an Irish-inspired lunch on March 17 from 11:30am to 2:30pm. Tickets are $15 a person and can be purchased in-person at the Manchester Senior Center or from a Manchester Senior Citizens Council board member. There are limited spots and tickets must be purchased by March 9.
The menu includes fresh rolls and butter, garden greens with pickled vegetables, buttermilk mashed potatoes, green beans, an entrée, and dessert. Entrées include corned beef and cabbage, herbed chicken breast with cheddar-stout sauce, and vegetarian Irish white bean stew. Desserts include bread-and-butter pudding with caramel drizzle, and Guinness double-chocolate brownies. The meal will be prepared by Aaron Cook, executive chef and owner of Cook’s Catering, LLC.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to wear green!
