MHS bands receive 1s at district festival

Manchester’s 7th–8th grade band and high school bands performed on Friday, March 6, at district festival, which Manchester hosted, and earned First Division “superior” ratings. Band director Jenna Kezelian named the music played: the 7th–8th grade band performed “A March on the King’s Highway” by Pierre LaPlante, “Ghost Ship” by Michael Story, and “Zig Zag” by Sean O’Loughlin. The high school band performed “Billboard March” by John Klohr, “Encanto” by Robert W. Smith, and “Dragonship” by Larry Neeck. Both groups will perform at State Band & Orchestra Festival April 23 or 24, which will also be hosted at the Manchester Jr/Sr High School.
