Memorial Day commemoration set

The American Legion Post 117 of Manchester plans to hold its traditional services observing Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, beginning at 10am in Norvell Cemetery and at 11am at Oak Grove Cemetery. Ceremony participants should report to the respective sites one hour prior to services start times. The patriotic event is expected to include the Manchester High School marching band performing the National Anthem, service songs, Navy Hymn, and “Taps”; a wreath-laying ceremony; and a reading and honoring of military veterans who have passed in the last year. Although there will not be a parade, the community is welcome to attend the ceremony.
