On the afternoon Tuesday, May 27, the children of Luther C. Klager Elementary School made their way down to the sunny track and field for the annual Field Day event. Children and teachers were greeted by an army of volunteer family members and PTO members as they traveled to their starting stations of exercise and fun.
Children were treated to twelve different stations around the track this year, each one supported by at least two family volunteers. This year’s activities included the return of: Bed Races, Olympic Torch, Fox Tails, Sack Race, Water Balloons, Dizzy Sticks, Junk Relay, Water Relay, Potato Hockey, Hoola-Hoops, Relay Race, and Horse Relay. In addition to volunteering, families were also invited to come and watch the event and cheer the children on at different stations.
After such a hot day of fun, the children were thrilled to be greeted by the PTO with refreshing popsicles to cool down before going home for the day. Sincere gratitude is extended by all at Klager for the supportive family volunteers who donated items, their time, and talent, PTO members for the delicious popsicles, and the efforts of retiring gym teacher, Bryan Barnard, for making this event a success!
