On Thursday, May 29, the gymnasium of Luther C. Klager Elementary School was packed with families as they arrived early in the morning for a special performance. The children welcomed their families to a Spring Concert with the theme: Campfire Songs. Under the guidance and guitar accompaniment of music teacher, Edward Schoendorff, the children in grades Young 5s through second grade treated to their families to nostalgic songs that used to be sung around the campfire when their adults were their age. The Young 5s and Kindergarten classes opened the concert with 5 Little Speckled Frogs and If You’re Happy and You Know It. First grade was next to perform the classic call-and-respond songs Down By the Bay and The Moose Juice Song. The second grade classes closed the concert with their performances of On Top of Spaghetti and Boom, Boom, Ain’t It Great to Be Crazy? Families were delighted by the fun songs and the children were thrilled to perform their songs for their families after so many months of hard work.
