Annual Manchester Fairy Festival returns with free fairy fun

submitted by Laura Wohlgemuth, Manchester District Library Event Coordinator
Fairies, crafts, stories, music, and magic will fill the air when the Manchester District Library hosts the Annual Manchester Fairy Festival on Saturday, June 20, from 11am to 2pm in the City Room.
Made possible through the generous sponsorship of Worth Repeating, the free community event will offer fun, fairy-themed activities for children and families. The City Room, located on the lower level beneath the Manchester District Library, will be transformed into a whimsical fairy wonderland featuring crafts, games, stories, dancing, and prizes.
Festival attendees can create fairy wands and bracelets, participate in a fairy garden make-and-take activity featuring ferns donated by Debbie Kelly, enjoy fairy stories and games, and learn a fairy dance from instructors with Dance With Heart Studios. Throughout the event, families will be able to explore a variety of hands-on activities designed to spark imagination and creativity.
The festivities will also include a special raffle featuring a giant stuffed animal donated by the Manchester Lions Club, along with numerous fairy-themed prizes donated by Worth Repeating. Participants must be present to win.
The fairy fun begins even before festival day. On Thursday, June 18, families are invited to attend a special pre-fairy festival activity at the Manchester Farmers Market. From 3pm to 6pm, visitors can participate in a Hidden Fairy Treasure Hunt, and at 4pm children can create a free wind chime craft.
The Manchester Fairy Festival schedule includes:
- 11am – 2pm: Fairy Crafts and Fairy Garden Make & Take
- 11:30am – noon: Fairy Dance with Dance With Heart Studios
- noon – 12:30pm: Fairy Storytime, Fairy Songs, and Fairy Games with Miss Abby
- 12:30pm – 1pm: Fairy Interpretive Dance
- 1pm: Fairy Festival Raffle and Prize Drawings
Families are encouraged to dress as fairies, elves, or other magical creatures and join in the celebration.
