The school year at Luther C. Klager Elementary School came to an end on Friday, June 5 with sweet treats, graduation, and a glow party.
The eventful morning began with some extra love from the Klager/Riverside Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). PTO sponsored the annual arrival of the Kona Ice truck for the students. Grade level classes came outside together to enjoy some sunshine and a tasty treat of Kona Ice. Children were excited to mix flavors and show off their colorful tongues as they dove into their tasty treats and reflected with their friends over the end of the school year.
When the ice treat was over, it was time for everyone to make their way to the gym for the end of year celebration. To begin with, second-grade teacher, Karin Villarreal, was recognized for her retirement. Then the second-grade students came up to participate in their own “Glowing Up” graduation in front of their peers. Each student was provided with a certificate and took a picture with his or her teacher. The event closed with glow sticks and a glow dance. The lights were turned off and replaced with black lights, music was turned on, and children danced and had fun with their friends before returning to class to wrap up the school year.
The school year ended with smiles, tears, hugs, and laughter as everyone said their goodbyes and shared well-wishes of a wonderful summer.
Sincere thanks is extended to all students, families, faculty, staff, administration, volunteers, and community members, who contributed to ensure the success of the 2025-2026 school year. We will see you in August!
