Next week, Thursday, July 25, at 7pm in Wurster Park, the second free Thursday night Gazebo Concert of the season will feature Chef Chris and The Cast Iron MoJo bringing harmonica driven funky old school electric blues.
Friend of the library, Brenda Bancroft explained that veteran of the Detroit/Ann Arbor blues scene, Chef Chris is a larger than life frontman together with Matt Stahl on drums, Steve Dely on guitar and Spooky Dave on bass. She added that you may know Chef Chris from the Boogie Woogie BBQ which he operated for more than a decade and as the weekly host on WAAM Radio 1600 am & 92.7fm (Saturday Nights 10pm to Midnight.)
Bring a blanket or chairs. Rain location is Emanuel Church, 324 W Main St (kitty-corner to the park). This concert is presented and sponsored by the Manchester District Library. Donations are collected at the concerts and are appreciated to keep this long-standing Manchester tradition a reality.
Reminder: The free gazebo concert series kicks off THIS Thursday, June 18 at 7pm with Gemini. Sign up beforehand for the library’s summer reading program with categories and prizes for all ages.
