Friends of Watkins Lake holding workday

The Friends of Watkins Lake State Park (FoWL) are holding a volunteer workday at Watkins Lake State Park and County Preserve on Sunday, July 26, from 1pm to 3pm, weather permitting. Meet at the trailhead. You can bring a bike and bike or carpool with others to the worksite along the trail between Noggles and Sharon Hollow roads. Volunteers will be monitoring and treating invasive phragmites, a large perennial reed grass at a habitat restoration site.
The workday is being facilitated with support from the Jackson-Lenawee-Washtenaw Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas (JLW-CISMA) group and Stewardship Network. Comfortable work pants and work gloves are encouraged. Work tools and extra gloves will be provided in addition to snacks and water.
No RSVP needed; just show up.
