NOTICE OF RESOLUTION
Notice is hereby given that the Township Board for Sharon Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan adopted Resolution 26-07-14 at its regular meeting on July 14, 2026.
Resolution 26-07-14 approves a 12-month moratorium on the acceptance and/or processing of any applications for power generation facilities. The moratorium will last 12 months or until the township adopts regulations regarding power generation facilities and those regulations go into effect.
This moratorium does not include Public Act 233 of 2023 energy facilities or other small scale energy generation devises similar to household generator. This moratorium is necessary to allow the Township adequate time to research, review and create regulations to limit the impacts of power generating facilities and similar uses on the community.
In addition to the initial moratorium, the Township Board may extend the temporary moratorium if the Township Board determines that more time is necessary to review, enact, or amend provisions of the master plan or zoning ordinance to regulate such land uses. Future extensions shall not exceed six (6) month increments.

The resolution is effective immediately.
