WCRC: Ann Arbor-Saline Rd at Ellsworth Rd to close for 8 weeks

On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close the intersection of Ann Arbor-Saline Rd and Ellsworth Rd in Lodi and Pittsfield townships for a hill-cut project. While this is not in the Manchester area, this is one of the main paths to get to the eastern half of the county from Manchester, so many Manchester residents pass through this intersection on a regular basis.
The road will be closed to all through traffic. The recommended detour if coming on Pleasant Lake Rd from Manchester to Ann Arbor is to turn right (south) instead of left (north) onto Ann Arbor -Saline Rd, then turn left (east) onto Textile Rd and take that to South Maple Rd and turn left (north) onto it, which will take you to Ann Arbor-Saline Rd past the closure. Depending on where you are going in Ann Arbor, you could still turn left (north) onto Ann Arbor-Saline/Wagner Rd and turn right (east) onto Waters Rd, Scio Church Rd, Liberty Rd, or Jackson Ave. Just remember that the intersection of Scio Church Rd and Zeeb Rd is also currently closed to traffic, so you can not take Scio Church Rd from M-52 all the way to Ann Arbor-Saline Rd.
Businesses and residents within the road closure will have access.
The work is expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
