Washtenaw Alive organizing intergenerational dialogue on mental health panel in Manchester

The Washtenaw Alive Suicide Prevention Coalition will be holding a panel on Wednesday, September 23 from 6-8pm at the Manchester Junior and Senior High School located at 20500 Dutch Drive.

Washtenaw Alive is partnering with Manchester SRSLY and VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System for this event. Matthew Raad, Community Engagement & Partnership Coordinator for the VA explained, “We plan to have a panel of 3 youth/younger adults and 3 older adults so we could capture perspectives throughout the lifespan.”

The event will start with refreshments and a resource tables in the commons then move to the auditorium for a one hour panel made up of Manchester youth and senior citizens who will talk about mental health and resilience moderated by Celeste Kanpurwala, Washtenaw Alive Coalition Chair. It will conclude with a “hope wall” where everyone can write messages of encouragement and then put them up on display, and connection activities.
