WCRC to close Sharon Valley Rd. bridge for replacement

On Monday, October 5, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close the Sharon Valley Road Bridge, over River Raisin, between Sharon Hollow Rd and Meyers Rd in Sharon Township. WCRC states that the bridge was built in 1960 and has reached the end of its design life and that the two-lane bridge has been weight-restricted for many years and needs to be replaced. The bridge replacement work will take approximately twelve months to complete. During the bridge replacement project, the bridge will remain closed to all traffic.
WCRC will be holding a virtual project information meeting regarding the bridge replacement project. The virtual public meeting will be held via Zoom on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11am. There will be a brief presentation followed by time for questions from the audience. A recording of the meeting will be posted to the project web page after the meeting.
