Continue your journey through the 13 original colonies at the Library

History comes to life this October at the Manchester District Library as The 13 Original Colonies series continues with four Thursday afternoon programs exploring the people, places, foods, and fascinating stories that helped shape early America.
The journey continues with Maryland on October 8, followed by Connecticut on October 22 and Rhode Island on October 29. Along the way, participants will explore everything from life along the Chesapeake Bay to New England settlements and Rhode Island’s important connection to religious freedom. The series is geared toward teens and adults and will be held in the City Room at the Manchester District Library.
Each program combines fascinating history and fun facts with food tastings inspired by the featured colony or state. Participants will also create new pages for their own 13 Original Colonies scrapbook, building a colorful keepsake of their journey through early American history.
Come for one class or follow the entire series as we explore, learn, taste, create, and discover our way through the 13 Original Colonies.
