Manchester had beautiful weather for its annual CROP Hunger Walk on October 3. Walkers could choose between walking 1 mile, 3 miles, or rocking in a rocking chair. Organizer Cathy Moore reports that they had 37 walkers and two dogs participate.
Donations were collected and the money raised will be used to reduce hunger around the world and at home. Twenty-five percent of the funds raised this year will be split between the Community Resource Center, Manchester Family Services, and the Manchester Senior Citizens Council. Moore states that they have currently brought in $5,343 but hope to collect more before November. You can still donate through the end of the month at https://events.crophungerwalk.org/chw/event/manchesterMI.
She thanked Lon Nordeen for the water station; “Carol from the Community Resource Center” and “Barb from Manchester United Methodist Church” for the snacks; and “Ron from Zion Church” for the cider.
