Have you ever wanted to participate in an old fashioned quilting bee in which a group comes together to work on one quilt? Now you can!
Next month, a quilting bee will be held over three different days at Sharon Mills County Park located at 5701 Sharon Hollow Road in Sharon Township. On Sunday, November 1 from 11am-12pm, Tuesday, November 10 from 10am-1pm, and Sunday, and November 22, from 11am-2pm, gather around at these drop-in style events for a few hours of stitches, stories, and shared handiwork while stitching on an 1860’s-style quilt.
Volunteer & Education Program Supervisor for Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission, Lauren Koloski, explained that this quilting bee project originated at Parker Mill County Park in Ann Arbor and they decided to “take it on the road” and bring it the Sharon Mills. The final product will be displayed in the historic cabin at Parker Mill County Park.
All ages and skill levels are welcome. No registration required.
