What is a rain garden? How can they help protect our rivers and streams? How can you design and build one that is just right for you?

Join Manchester's Mark VanBogelen this Saturday, March 8th, from 11am to 12pm at The Garden Mill located at 110 S. Main St., in Chelsea for a free rain garden workshop. Class sizes are limited and pre-registration is recommended.  To reserve your spot, call 734-475-3539 or email customerservice@thegardenmill.com.

The Rain Garden Workshop is part of the Garden Mill's annual Green Thumb Series.  This series of free workshops began with an Open House on Saturday, March 1st, and continues throughout the month with workshops offered each Saturday in March from 11 am to 12 pm.  To check out upcoming workshops click HERE.

Example of a rain garden built at the low corner of a parking lot. The garden slows down the runoff during rainstorms and allows it to soak into the ground instead of flowing directly into rivers and streams.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
