Since November 2013, The Manchester Mirror has been only available online. While the Mirror has a large online following, in order to reach local residents without reliable internet access, the staff has decided to move into print as well. We will continue to publish our new editions online on Monday mornings, but now will also distribute a print edition on Wednesday mornings. Last Wednesday, the first-ever print edition rolled off the presses!

Like our online editions, print editions are also free. While we are experimenting with how many and where, our first print edition of 500 copies was distributed to the Manchester Market, Manchester Pharmacy, Manchester TrueValue Hardware, BP gas station (across from Klager), Frank’s Place, Kellie’s, Linda’s Diner, Bridgewater Depot, Fredonia Grocery, Manchester District Library and the Manchester Village Offices. Subscriptions are not offered at this time.

Moving into print means a greater weekly overhead, and while it is important to us to make print work, we have to be able to pay the printer. That means we need to sell enough ads each week to stay afloat. We are offering very low promotional ad rates for a limited time. Click here for our: Ad Rate Card. If having a print newspaper in Manchester is important to you, please consider supporting our effort by purchasing an advertisement for your business, organization or event.

The Manchester Mirror got its start when the historic Manchester Enterprise was still published but had, for all practical purposes, stopped covering Manchester. We published our first edition in October of 2013. Shortly after we began publishing, the Enterprise was shelved and along with other individual newspaper titles run by Heritage, it was replaced by a county-wide publication called Washtenaw Now, which eventually folded as well. While other print publications have slowly begun to pick up snippets of Manchester news, no other publication – online or print – is dedicated to the hyper-local coverage of news and events we provide for the Village of Manchester, Manchester Township, Bridgewater Township, Sharon Township, and Freedom Township.

The Mirror is owned, run, and written by die-hard Manchester residents who live, shop, raise their children, and work here in Manchester. For questions about advertising, getting coverage for your event, or placing a photo, announcement, or obituary, please email themanchestermirror@gmail.com.
