The Manchester Area Historical Society will hold its monthly general meeting on Thursday, November 9, 7 pm at the Kingsley-Jenter House, 302 E. Main. All are welcome to attend.

Our presentation this month reflects on the 100th anniversary of the “Great Cyclone of 1917,” which struck areas of Sharon and Freedom Townships on June 6, 1917 and caused extensive damage. We’ll learn about several aspects of this event, including remarks from people whose families or homes were affected by the storm. A slide show with photographs and maps will accompany the talk.

There will also be a general update on Society happenings and light refreshments served.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
