The CTPL Friends are opening the Book Sale Room for shoppers! For the next few months, the Friends are offering appointment times on Tuesday afternoons (1 – 3 pm) and every other Saturday (10 am – noon). You will find the sign-up sheet on the Friends of the Library page of the library website (www.clintontownshiplibrary.org). The Friends page can be accessed by clicking ‘Friends’ in the upper right corner. Information about donating books is also available on the Friends’ page.

If you would prefer, you may email the Friends requesting a shopping time or asking questions concerning the book sale or book donations at friendsofctplbooksale@gmail.com. The friendly, always helpful, Clinton Library staff is prepared to assist you either in person or at 517-456-4141. If you haven’t visited the library website recently you are missing out on lots of great information and happenings!

Due to COVID-19 and the need to protect both valued shoppers and dedicated Friends volunteers, the book sale room is opening with limits and requirements. In keeping with the Clinton Township Public Library Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan, masks must be properly worn (covering both nose and mouth) throughout your visit to the book sale. The Friends have decided the best way to limit the number of shoppers at any one time is to have reserved appointment times. Each half-hour time slot can accommodate up to four individual shoppers.

For the past few months, the Friends of CTPL have been hard at work making the downstairs book room as safe as possible for both customers and volunteers. You will find somewhat fewer books, better organization, and space to social distance while shopping. It is hoped the shopping environment will allow even the most cautious reader to feel safe and welcome.

The Friends thank you for your understanding and patience and look forward to seeing you at the book sale. Cold weather is coming and we all need books to entertain us through the long Michigan winter!

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
