The “yellow ribbon“ project in support of Paul Whelan’s quest for freedom after more than four years spent in Russian prison facilities is gaining momentum all around Manchester. Several homes and businesses have begun to display ribbons in a variety of creative ways to spread the word throughout the community.

If you would like to distribute ribbons (either bows or untied ribbons) in your neighborhood or if you’d simply like to have one to display at home, at work, or on your vehicle, stop in at one of the local shops that is offering them for free, no obligation. If any donations are received, they can be used to purchase additional ribbon; any leftover funds will be donated to the Free Paul Whelan Go Fund Me account, which provides legal aid and supplies to Paul while he is wrongfully imprisoned.

Pre-cut ribbons can be obtained at Worth Repeating or River Raisin Mercantile. Bows are available at Marti’s Salon and the Manchester District Library.

Mail to Paul is, as always, appreciated. The address is:

Bows are available at Marti’s Salon and the Manchester District Library.

This home has a wide yellow ribbon encircling the front door, instead of a tree.

The library has a bow on the tree in front of its main entrance.
