Virginia Louise Fielder (July 29, 1927–September 5, 2025)

Virginia Louise Fielder of Manchester, age 98, was welcomed into heaven September 5, 2025. Ginny was surrounded by her loving and cherished family at the time of her passing at The Meadows of Silver Maples in Chelsea.

Ginny was born in Manchester, Mich., on July 29, 1927, to Paul and Hulda (Luckhardt) Feldkamp. She grew up in Manchester, graduating from Manchester High School in the class of 1945. The class celebrated their 80th class reunion with Ginny in attendance.

On August 23, 1947, Ginny married the love of her life, Norman Fielder. They were blessed with three children and were well loved members of their community.

Ginny is survived by her sons, Larry (Debbie ) Fielder and Randy (Sharon) Fielder; her grandchildren whom she adored and on whom she left a lasting impression, Erica (Mo) Kanj, Adam (Jenna) Fielder, Lindsey Fielder, and Melissa (Hunter) Daniel; great grandchildren, Kaia and Ava Kanj, Bryce and Chase Fielder, and Tyler and Seth Daniel; son-in-law Bill Garfoot; and several nieces and nephews.

Ginny was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norm; daughter, Nancy; brother, Lauren Feldkamp; and his sister, Evelyn Feldkamp McKeen, whom she shared a special relationship with.

Ginny led her life in a way that exemplified the importance of faith and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and constant and faithful friend to many. She was always willing to help others. One way she showed her caring was the devotion she showed for her church, Emanuel United Church of Christ, where she was a member. One duty she enjoyed was working the food trailer at the Manchester Fair. Spending time with her family and friends are the things she enjoyed most in her life. For 50 years she was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling. Her later years she played plenty of cards with her weekly card friends and never missed a chance to root on the Detroit Tigers and her Michigan Wolverines.

Ginny’s kind and caring ways and her sweet smile will forever be present in the lives of all who loved her. Her example of living a full and happy life will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Ginny’s life will be held at 11am, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Emanuel United Church of Christ, 324 W Main St, Manchester, Mich., with visitation from 10am until the time of service. Rev. Dr. Eugene Blair and Pastor David Bucholtz will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel United Church of Christ, 324 W Main St, Manchester, MI 48158 or Bethel United Church of Christ, 10425 Bethel Church Rd, Manchester, MI 48158.

On behalf of Ginny’s family, they would like to thank Nancy (nurse) Fielder, Arbor Hospice, Silver Maples of Chelsea, and nurse Brooke Doyle for their compassionate care. Please sign Ginny’s guest book at sherwoodfh.com, Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake.
