Library offering 3 Olympic National Park Programs this March

submitted by Quintessa Gallinat, Manchester District Library
On March 2, dive into ocean conservation and become an official Olympic National Park Ocean Steward at Manchester District Library! Participants will learn how to care for our oceans by completing an activity workbook and virtually exploring Olympic National Park at 3:30pm in the upstairs lounge on the mezzanine level. This could be a stand-alone program or could include two additional Olympic National Park programs on March 9.
On March 9, become an official Olympic National Park Junior Ranger! Virtually explore Olympic National Park while completing the Junior Ranger workbook and learning about the three major ecosystems in Olympic National Park at 3:30pm in the City Room.
Following the Junior Ranger program, join an actual Olympic National Park Ranger at 4:30pm for an engaging virtual program (for children and adults) exploring Olympic National Park and its three major ecosystems, concluding with a live Q&A session with the ranger.
Then, participants who attended the Junior Ranger program in the previous hour will be officially sworn in by a National Park Ranger during a live Zoom ceremony. Ocean Steward patches will also be awarded at that time; for those who cannot attend, patches will be awarded at the end of the March 2 program.
Advance registration is requested. Sign up at the circulation desk, by phone at 734-428-8045, or by using our online registration form.
