Help pull garlic mustard at Iron Creek and Sharon Hills preserves

It is important to pull garlic mustard before it goes to seed.

On Saturday, April 18, from 10am to noon, Legacy Land Conservancy will be leading a workday at Iron Creek Preserve located at 11703 Noggles Rd. Come help remove the invasive species garlic mustard. Volunteers will be hand-pulling garlic mustard and disposing of the invasive species in garbage bags provided by Legacy, so it doesn’t re-establish itself after being pulled.
Can’t make that one? The following Saturday, April 25, Legacy Land Conservancy will be back in the Manchester area from 10am to noon at Sharon Hills Preserve to lead a volunteer workday to remove garlic mustard there. Sharon Hills Preserve is located roughly between Grass Lake and Manchester in Sharon Township on Sharon Hollow Road between Walker and Washburn roads.
Dress for the weather and in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear a long-sleeved shirt, pants, and closed-toe shoes, regardless of the temperature. It will help protect you from poison ivy, ticks, and getting scratched up while working outside. Bring a water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen. Legacy will provide tools and work gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have a pair you like.
Please RSVP by filling out the Google form, which you can reach by visiting https://legacylandconservancy.org/events/ and scrolling down and clicking on “Volunteer Workday 4/18/26 at Iron Creek Preserve” or “Volunteer Workday 4/25/26” then clicking “Register”.
