Columbia Central/East Jackson Dual Meet Recap

Manchester, Mi. On Senior Night, Flying Dutchmen were dropping times and competing against some of the Conferences best.  The Girls highlighted the night with their 2-0 record as they would defeat Columbia Central 87-48 and East Jackson 112-22.  Siera Jedele would lead the way with her four first places as she would win the 100m Hurdles and 300m Hurdles, 200m, and anchored the winning 4x200m Relay. That’s a nice way to go out in your last home conference dual meet. Audrina Lauer would win the Long Jump, take 2nd in the 100m Hurdles, and be on the winning 4x1 and 4x2 Relays. Abbi Austin would win the 100m in a season best time, finish 3rd in LJ vs EJ, and run legs on the winning 4x1 and 4x2 Relays. Olivia Woods would win the High Jump, take 2nd in the Long Jump, 3rd in the 200m, and be on the winning 4x1 Relay. Ava Rentfro would PR by nearly seven feet to win the Discus. She would also pick up a 3rd in Shot Put against EJ and be on the winning 4x1 Relay team. Charlotte Williams would win the 3200m with a PR time, be on the winning 4x8 Relay, and PR in the 1600m by nearly nine seconds to take 2nd in the 1600m against EJ.

Caroline Mason would take 2nd overall in the 800m and 1600m as well as be on the winning 4x8 Relay, and winning 4x4 Relay against EJ. Elle Woods would take 2nd overall in the 400m, 2nd to EJ in the PV with a PR vault of 7’0! She would also run on the winning 4x8 Relay, and a team that beat EJ in the 4x4 Relay. Teagan Clarke would take 2nd overall in PV, 2nd in the 3200m, take 3rd in the 300m Hurdles, and 3rd in Discus against EJ. Valorie Hieber took 3rd overall and 2nds against both EJ and CC in Shot Put, 2nd in the 300m Hurdles, and be on the winning 4x2 Relay and 4x4 Relay that beat EJ.  Amanda Hieber would run a PR time in the 400m to take 3rd overall.  She would also take 3rd overall in the 800m, and be on the winning 4x8 Relay, and 4x4 Relay team at beat EJ.

On the Boys side, they ran up against a tough Columbia Central team and fell to them 77-59 in a closely contested dual meet.  This was a meet that had a couple swings where a couple different outcomes would have flipped the meet.  However, Columbia is one of the top teams in the league so they are a great program and a good measuring stick as we enter the bigger meets of May.  The Dutch would take care of an undermanned East Jackson team 133-1.

Jayden Johnson set the pace as he would win the 100m and 200m, as well as be on the 4x2 Relay team that beat EJ.  Grant Johnson would win the 110m Hurdles and take 2nd in both the 400m in a highly competitive event, and the 300m Hurdles which are back-to-back events.  Not many people are able to do the back-to-back and Grant is one of the very few who can do it and be successful with it.  Alec Dodak would win the 3200m and would PR by six seconds in the 1600m as he would take 3rd in a very fast field. Eli Finnegan would PR in the PV by a foot to jump 10’!  He would also take 2ndin the 800m to EJ and be on the 4x4 Relay that would defeat EJ. Brennan Woods would win the HJ and take 3rd in the 400m against EJ in a PR time, and be on the 4x4 Relay team that would beat EJ.  Our 4x8 Relay set the tone at the start of the meet and got a win and that was a group of Cade Sayer, Justin Gale, Alec Dodak, and Gavin Horky. Our 4x100m Relay team of Anthony Cencer, Ethan Hittle, Donte Johnson, and JC Amrhein would run almost a second faster than Friday and take 1st in the meet! Brett Brothers would win the Shot Put against EJ.

Gavin Lindeman would take 1st in the Long Jump against EJ, 2nd in the 200m vs EJ, and be on the 4x2 Relay that would beat EJ.  Ethan Hittle would take 2nd in PV, and take 3rd place in the 200m against EJ.  Gavin Horky would take 2nd in the HJ, and 2nd in the 400m with a PR vs EJ. Michael Navitskis would take 2nd in the 110m and 300m Hurdles against EJ and be on the winning 4x2 Relay against EJ. Cade Sayer would take 1st in the 800m against EJ and be on the 4x4 Relay that would beat EJ.

After this meet, both the Boys and Girls teams are 5-1 in Conference place with two dual meets left next week to determine the Conference Standings heading into the Conference Championship.  The Dual Meets are half the score in determining the League Champion and both teams have done a great job to position themselves for a great ending to the season!
