The Adult Learners Institute (ALI) invites curious minds to explore the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence in its upcoming course, Artificial Intelligence & ChatGPT, led by instructor Steve Daut.

Held over two Thursdays, May 21 and May 28, from 10am to noon, the class will be offered both in person at the Manchester District Library and via Zoom, making it accessible for a wide range of participants.

This engaging two-session course will trace the roots of artificial intelligence from its early conceptual origins in ancient Greek mythology to the groundbreaking ideas of Alan Turing, who in 1950 proposed a test to determine whether machines could truly “think.” Participants will gain a clear understanding of how AI has developed over time, how modern tools like ChatGPT function, and what opportunities—and challenges—these technologies present in today’s world.

The course fee is $27.50. Interested individuals can register online at alimichigan.org/registration/ or by mail through ALI Michigan, P.O. Box 134, Chelsea, MI 48118. Checks should be made payable to ALI Michigan of Chelsea.

Whether you’re new to AI or looking to better understand its impact, this class offers an approachable and informative introduction to one of today’s most talked-about technologies.
