The Manchester seniors have been on the move! They visited the Henry Ford Museum in March and Frankenmuth in April. Now the Manchester Senior Citizens Council is organizing a trip to historic Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan on Wednesday 17 from 8:30am to 5pm. The trip costs $60 per person and includes round-trip transportation from the Senior Center on a bus and a $20 meal voucher.

Greenfield Village features nearly one hundred historical buildings which were moved to the property from their original locations and arranged in a “village” setting with the intent to show how Americans have lived and worked since the founding of the country. It employs costumed and plain-clothed presenters who tell stories and convey information about the attractions. Located in the Village are Henry Ford’s birthplace home, a courthouse where Abraham Lincoln practiced law, the home of Noah Webster, the Wright brothers’ bicycle shop and home, the birthplace of Thomas Edison’s father, one of the oldest wind mills in the US, and more. It was the first outdoor museum of its type in the nation, and served as a model for subsequent outdoor museums.

Reserve your spot by purchasing a ticket at the senior center. All sales are final (but refunds will be provided if the trip is canceled.) Questions? Call (734) 212-3080 or email centerdirector@msscinc.org.
