SYNOPSIS OF MEETING MINUTES

September 8, 2026, Regular Board Meeting

Held in person at the Freedom Town Hall

Meeting called to order at 8:00pm

Members present: Lindemann, Bristle, Layher, Schaible, Huehl absent-none   17 public in attendance.

The board heard public comments, communications received, and treasurer, clerk, planning commission, ordinance enforcement officer and zoning administrator’s reports.

Items approved:   

1. To correct the agenda under new business from 5204 to 5202 Happy Hollow Dr.
2. Minutes for August 11, 2026
3. November Treasurer’s report
4. To accept the Steinbach Road Maintenance Agreement with the change to 5 C. last sentence from Township to party.
5. The safety event scheduled for Saturday, September 19^th, 2026, at the Freedom Town Hall starting at 10:00am.
6. To purchase water, snacks and stress balls/cows (that say Freedom Township) for 100 people.
7. To provide a letter of support to go along with the 2026 Community Impact Award Grant application (from Consumers Energy) and the EGLE grant application.
8. Warrants
