Washtenaw Association of School Boards will be holding a public town hall-style meeting on November 12 from 6:30pm to 8pm at High Point School on Wagner Rd in Ann Arbor.

Topics covered will include state funding structure and how schools are funded, the historical look at school funding and how it has changed over time, local funding through county millages (specifically special education and CTE millages), challenges in school funding (including impacts on teacher pay, grants vs foundation allowance, local vs state priorities), and the future of school funding — opportunities for where we go from here.

This forum is open to all members of the public. Registration is encouraged but not required. Register at www.washtenawisd.org/TownHall. The registration link will allow for participants to add questions they would like answered or specific funding topics they are interested in learning more about.

This is a great opportunity for members of our community with interest in public school funding to hear first hand from industry experts. We hope to see some of our Manchester Family there!
