The Ladies of the Lucy Wolcott Barnum Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be hosting an “Ice Cream Social” at the Historic Croswell House, 228 N. Broad Street, on Sunday, August 23, 2 – 4 PM.

The Chapter would like to share with the community its recent restoration efforts of the house and grounds.  Although we are a little behind due to the pandemic, we have new windows, storm doors, and porches. The grounds have been updated and a Patriot’s Garden has been added on the north side of the property. Bricks edge the garden with the names of each member’s patriot(s) who fought in the Revolution.

We are still working on painting, new shutters, and gutters. A grant was obtained from the National Association of Daughters of the American Revolution to install historic u-shaped gutters.

The ladies have also worked on updating the grounds, and “Lucy’s Garden” was named after the first Mrs. Croswell.

Music will be provided by Lorri Wittenkeller, Adrian Public Schools Strings Program; and ice cream by The Spotted Cow. Tours will also be offered of the inside first floor for small groups.

Social distancing and masks will be required while not enjoying the ice cream. Please join us as we celebrate our recent efforts and welcome the community.
