Like most other events, Manchester's traditional Christmas in the Village will be downsized this year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers wanted to make sure this popular event continued, despite social distancing and other regulations that have curtailed so many public activities.

The main Christmas in the Village event will be something that everyone can do ... no masks or gloves required! A home lighting contest will be held, and the winner will be selected by an open vote of the public on the Christmas in the Village Facebook page between December 2 and December 5.

A registration link can be found here. Pictures of your home should be submitted by noon on December 2, to ManchesterMiChristmas@gmail.com. Judging will then be opened to the public for their vote. Eligible entries are homes located within a three-mile radius of downtown Manchester. A list of participants' addresses will also be available for community touring on the Christmas in the Village Facebook page.

The committee is also planning a snowman contest (made of anything) and a visit from Santa. There will not be a parade, and most of the local churches have opted out of doing craft shows for this year, however St. Thomas which usually holds a German Bake Sale at Freedom Township Hall during Christmas in the Village is planning to go ahead with their bake sale.
